Dbsk Theme song in Action Movie

DBSK (Tohoshinki in Japan) will be singing their first main theme song for a live action movie.


It has been revealed that DBSK will be singing "With All My Heart ～The Summer You Danced～" for the upcoming September film The Summer You Danced directed by Hideyuki Katsuki. The song will be the 8th track on the second CD of the 2CD+DVD version of their first Japanese best album, BEST SELECTION 2010 and will be a "refreshing ballad brimming with passion."

DBSK has sung songs for films such as "Together" for the 2007 anime movie Cinnamon the Movie and were included on the soundtracks of Blue Wolf: To The Ends of the Earth and Sea (2007) and DANCE! SUBARU (2009). However, this will be their first main theme song for a live action film.

The Summer You Danced takes place during the Yosakoi Festival of the Kochi Prefecture in the summer as the lead character (Mizobata Junpei) attempts to fulfill the dreams of a 7 year old girl that risks her life to dance Yosakoi.

The producer of the film, Arikawa, commented, "Tohoshinki is the most suitable choice to send the message of "Courage and Hope" through song and dance to the youths in Asia."

Changmin's Weight Loss Concerns Fans

The recent appearance of DBSK's Changmin has made fans sad. From the pictures that were taken, it shows a thinner appearance of the DBSK member. Pictures say a thousand words, and from these pictures he wears no smile and his expression is dark and serious.
As these pictures have made their rounds through the internet, fans have shown their concerns for Changmin saying, "You should eat more food." "He's too thin." "His small face looks even smaller."

Changmin has been under the stress of the DBSK lawsuit and has been filming for his new drama, Paradise Meadow. The combination of the two might be the reason for his weight loss.

DBSK's Contract Status

As most kpop fans already know, DBSK's Korean contract with SME is a mess at the moment but how's their Japanese contract doing?

DBSK are currently signed to Rhythm Zone records under Avex Japan, a deal struck by SM during the beginning of their Japanese career back in 2005. The label boasts of acts such as Exile, Koda Kumi, M-flo and Ayumi Hamasaki. They've been very active when it comes to label-wide activities, participating in the yearly A Nation, a series of open-air concerts throughout Japan held in summer.

Over the course of the lawsuit filed by Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu plus all the scandals connected to it, Avex has insisted that DBSK would continue performing as Tohoshinki in Japan with all 5 members. On the 3rd of January, Nikkan Sports Japan quoted Avex, saying, "The policy of TVXQ to work as five members doesn’t yet to change."

Korea Economic Daily recently reported that:

"As been informed, TVXQ contract with their Japan company AVEX will expire in June. If the contract is not extended from now on, whether TVXQ can continue activities in Japan, it won’t be yet secured."

The problem with this is that DBSK are signed to Avex via SME, which means that when it's time to talk contracts again, SME will be the ones negotiating with Avex and not the band themselves. Due to the fact that Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu want to get away from the company, it's still unclear whether or not SME will choose to renew the three members' contracts with Avex come June.

Paradise Meadow Begins, DBSK's Changmin to star!

Paradise Meadow, the new drama starring DBSK's Changmin and actress Lee Yeon Hee is finally starting to be filmed this month! The shooting will begin in Australia and the script has been written up to episode 6 since awhile ago. Changmin's character name will be Han Dong Joo while Lee Yeon Hee will be playing the role of Lee Da Ji. This news will surely excite many DBSK fans and fans of Changmin in particular after such a long run of drama surrounding the group.

It seems like forever since news of this project had first came out, but it seems like their finally getting somewhere. Not a bad way to start ending the year. Any good news is a plus when it comes to the DBSK boys right now. Especially when it comes to this project that many fans have been waiting for sometime. So much Changmin & Lee Yeon Hee artwork out there already and to those artists your dream is now closer then ever before.

Mnet Invited TVXQ For Their Year-end Awards

On the 16th, it was revealed by Mnet’s office that they have invited TVXQ, whose members are in the midst of a legal dispute with their management company, to attend their year-end awards “Mnet Asian Music Award” (hereafter known as MAMA). This year’s MAMA will be held on the 21st November, Seoul, Jamsil Gymnasium.

Their office said, “MAMA’s aim is to show the rest of Asia Korea’s culture” and “the award ceremeony will be aired across the 10 main countries in Asia, like Japan, China, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, where TVXQ is the best artist. Thus, Korea’s top artist cannot be excluded from the invitation.”

On MAMA’s end, they have expressed interest in inviting TVXQ to attend their awards. On the 16th, they said that they would get in touch with TVXQ’s management to see whether it would be possible for them to attend or not. However, TVXQ’s company, SM Entertainment has declared that they would not be attending MAMA, so a lot of attention has been cast on TVXQ to see whether or not they will attend.

An official from the KPOP industry said, “Last month, the courts approved a partial injunction to the 3 members’ exclusive contract with the company, and the 3 members are allowed to participate in their own individual activities” and “while we hope that all 5 members can attend together, the possibility of only the 3 members attending is high”.

MAMA is holding their award ceremony on the 21st, which was originally the date of TVXQ’s concert in China. However, SM Entertainment claimed that, “The 3 members expressed that they did not wish to participate in the concert that was to be held on the 21st, and the remaining performances are uncertain.” In contrast, the 3 members’ side claimed that “From the beginning, the China concert (Shenzhen) was not in the contract.”

A representative from a company for idol groups said, “SM Entertainment and the 3 members have differing opinions, and the dispute is becoming more serious. Disbandment might be inevitable.”
